The prestigious Gault&Millau Guide has launched in Dubai with over 130 of UAE’s best restaurants up for review in the first edition of the Gault&Millau UAE 2022 guide. Il Borro Tuscan Bistro was recognised in the guide and received one toque while Orange Hospitality’s Wine Director, Eleonora Caso was named the Sommelier of the Year.
A team of independent reviewers from Gault&Millau have spent time dining in Dubai’s culinary scene to carry out anonymous reviews, which were paid for in full, in order to discover the crème de la crème of the industry. The winners and rankings were announced at an exclusive gala at the iconic Burj Al Arab, attended by renowned chefs, restauranteurs and key industry leaders. Points were awarded to restaurants based on the entire dining experience including the décor, quality of tableware, the welcome, the service, atmosphere, drinks offering, knowledge of the staff, and quality of the food.
Receiving 13/20 points, Gault&Millau describes Il Borro Tuscan Bistro as “classy Italian bistro food with added flair”. In a charming setting in Jumeirah Al Naseem’s Turtle Lagoon, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro offers authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Orange Hospitality Wine Director Eleonora Caso was also awarded the prestigious Sommelier of the Year award. The merit was awarded based on a sommelier who went above and beyond regular duties. Assisting guests with their wine selection and decanting vintages, her knowledge and expertise is well communicated as she is able to best guide guests with their wine pairings for the evening.
